
COLUMBIA, SC – Mizzou women’s basketball pushed No. 1/3 from South Carolina for two and a half quarters before falling, 77-62, on Thursday night at the Colonial Life Arena. Mizzou and the best Gamecocks drew 36 at halftime, before South Carolina beat the Tigers 41-26 in the last two quarters of the game.
Inflection point
The game was still tight with 5:35 remaining in the third quarter, with Mizzou losing 45-44, but South Carolina would continue in an 11-2 run to push its lead to 56-46 with 1:23 remaining in the third period. . Mizzou was unable to get closer than eight points after this Gamecock race.

- Red senior guard t-shirt Shug Dickson (St. Louis, Missouri) scored 15 points, the team’s best mark, hit 3 of 6 shots beyond the three-point line and gave three assists in the game.
