As noted above, Gamecocks are under new leadership for the rest of the season, severing ties with Will Muschamp earlier this week and naming former Colorado State coach Mike Bobo as caretaker for the rest of the year.

Muschamp was supposed to take South Carolina to the top of the SEC, but ended with a record 28-30 in his four and a half years in South Carolina, reaching 17-22 in conference games and 1-2 in bowling.

Bobo, with previous experience as head coach at Colorado State and also with former CSU defender Collin Hill, should help make his transition quite painless, but will it be taken to the field game?

The Missouri Tigers still did not play a game in November, when they last took the field in the 41-17 defeat on Halloween to Florida. Mizzou had a farewell week scheduled for November 7, so he had a postponement by COVID against Georgia last week. Tigers enter this game with only 56 fellows on Thursday, precariously close to the SEC’s rule of needing 53 fellows to play, a rule that states that you don’t necessarily have to follow it, making it not a rule.

Despite this, the Tigers will try to work things out in the attack. They fought Florida after looking very competent against LSU and, to some extent, Kentucky. Facing a Gamecocks team that is undergoing a change now may be exactly what Mizzou needs to get things going again.
