South Carolina Gamecocks and Ole Miss Rebels meet on Thursday in a college basketball action at Bridgestone Arena.

Entering this SEC Tournament clash, South Carolina is 6 to 14 overall. Gamecocks are 1-2 in their last three and coming out of a loss to Kentucky. As for Ole Miss, they are 15 to 10 years old this year. The rebels are 3-1 in the last four and coming from a victory over Vanderbilt. South Carolina has not been very lucky this year and has won consecutive games only once. Gamecocks are mired in an ugly 1-8 stretch in the last nine games. Since defeating Georgia, they have lost to Arkansas and Kentucky.

In Saturday’s 92-64 loss to Kentucky, South Carolina’s Keyshawn Bryant led the way with 16 points, five rebounds and two assists. Jalyn McCreary also scored double digits on that with 14 points and three rebounds in 14 minutes of work.

On Ole Miss’s side, they started the year 4-0, but then beat 4-8 in December and January. Since then, the rebels have had a solid 7-2 in their last nine. They beat Kentucky and Vanderbilt in their last matches.

In the 56-46 victory over Vanderbilt on Saturday, Ole Miss’ Jarkel Joiner added 15 points with four rebounds and three assists, and Romeo White added 11 points with four rebounds and two assists. Matthew Murrell scored eight points with four scholarships as well.

The rebels are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six games on neutral sites. The under is 20-9 on Ole Miss’ in the last 29 games on Thursday and 19-6-2 in his last 27 games overall.

Meanwhile, Gamecocks are 0-3-1 ATS in their last four games on Thursday and 1-5 ATS in their last six after a direct defeat. South Carolina has 1-6 ATS in its last seven games overall and 1-4 ATS in its last five games on neutral sites.

TO CHOOSE: I’ll stay with Ole Miss. The last time these teams met on February 13, the rebels had a 81-74 victory. Mississippi hit 50.0 percent on the field, but had a repercussion of 31 to 30 and had 20 losses. If the rebels can play a cleaner game with better ball control this time, the cover must be there.
