After waiting so long for December snow, Minnesota could face two major storms in the space of a week.
The National Weather Service says Minnesota is set for a light round of snow on Sunday, which can bring up to two inches of snow in parts of Minnesota, with the twin cities set for a sweep.
But it could serve as a mere appetizer for a larger snow system coming to the state.
Although the National Meteorological Service is not being elaborated based on the predicted snow levels due to the model’s uncertainty, he says that the Twin Cities are in an area most likely to have an “impacting winter climate”.
“There are several chances of snow this week,” the newspaper said. “Light snow arrives on Sunday, accompanied by an irregular blast of snow in the western areas. A strong winter storm is developing for Tuesday and Wednesday.”
Meanwhile, Sven Sundgaard of BMTN shared a look at some of the models for the approaching storm, four of which show the twin cities receiving at least some snow, with two showing that it is receiving a significant amount.
