Mike Barker will direct from a script by author Jessica Knoll.

Mila Kunis will star in the film adaptation Luckiest girl alive for Netflix.

Jessica Knoll’s best-selling novel focuses on Ani FaNelli, a sharp-tongued New Yorker who seems to have it all: a sought after position in a glossy magazine, a killer wardrobe and a dream wedding on Nantucket on the horizon. But when the director of a police documentary invites her to tell her side of the shocking incident that happened when she was a teenager at the prestigious Bradley School, Ani is forced to face a dark truth that threatens to unravel her meticulously crafted life.

Mike Barker, whose credits include episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale and Fargo, will be driven from a Knoll script.

Bruna Papandrea and Jeanne Snow will produce for Made Up Stories, with Erik Feig and Lucy Kitada for Picturestart and Mila Kunis for their Orchard Farm Productions. Knoll, Lisa Sterbakov, Shayne Fiske Goldner and Steve Hutensky will serve as executive producers.

Kunis, who is represented by CAA, Curtis Talent Management and Felker Toczek, can currently be seen at Breaking news in Yuba County.

Knoll is represented by CAA and Paradigm. Barker is represented by CAA, the UK’s Independent Talent Group, and Jackoway Austen.
