Mila Kunis is giving an honest answer to why she and her husband Ashton Kutcher were looking forward to filming a Cheetos commercial for the next Super Bowl: that meant a few days off for the parents.
“I was in quarantine and we were stuck with our kids for nine, 12, months at this point, and I was like, ‘Two days, baby! Two days off ‘, ”said the 37-year-old actress, joking Entertainment Tonight. “Literally, we were like, ‘Yes, OK, let’s do this.’ And so we did. And I hate to say it, but we think, ‘Freedom!’ It was fantastic!”
Kunis and Kutcher, 42, have two children: daughter Wyatt Isabelle, 6, and son Dimitri Portwood, 4.
“I love my children very much! Very, very!” Kunis clarified before saying that she “had never been so excited to wake up at 5 am and say, ‘I’m going to work!’ And I literally jumped out of the house. My kids said, ‘You are leaving us!’ And I said, ‘Relax.’ “
Kunis also shared that his “entire family is already codependent”, adding that the coronavirus pandemic “just fuels all of our codependency”.
“And my husband and I have been super codependent for eight years and, in this pandemic, our kids are like, ‘Where are you going?’ And I said, ‘The bathroom.’ We don’t let ourselves. We’re at home. Yes, it was very strange for them. They forgot that we have to leave the house, “said Kunis.
The couple, who met as a teenager on the set of This 70’s programrecently gave their first interview together since their wedding in 2015. In an episode of Teach me something new podcast with presenter Brit Morin, they opened up about home life with their two children. Showing his fatherly pride in calling his children “the greatest human beings ever created”, Kunis said the couple takes a discreet approach to raising children and likes to be “fool at home”.
“We are very goofy parents when it comes to our children, but that doesn’t have [skills]. I think they are just idiots, ”said Kunis. “I think we are comfortable with acting like idiots at home, but I think it comes from the idea of being comfortable in our own body, in our own skin and in our own mind.”
