After the Buccaneers won the Super Bowl LV, Leonard Fournette revealed that Tom Brady would send a text message to his teammates “We will win” around 11 pm Eastern time, every night.
But apparently that was not all that he was sending.
In an appearance on The Michael Irvin Podcast, Evans said Brady stepped up everything he normally did during the season to help motivate his teammates.
“He was texting us with multiple clips, lots and lots of movies about what to expect on certain descents and distances, ”said Evans, through Rick Stroud of Tampa Bay Times. “And he does it all the time, but only in the playoffs and especially in this game, he went further.
“Type 12 at night, six in the morning. People aren’t even awake and he’s telling us that this is not going to work against this guy. You have to drive like this. This is the detail that went into that and the extra meetings and all the hard work. It was all worth it and Tom is a great leader. “
Clearly, all the extra messages worked. All of this contributes to the legend of Brady, who may or may not remember the praise he is receiving from his teammates, as much as he remembers the criticism he received from the media.
