Shaun Weiss he won’t worry about the network in the next ‘Mighty Ducks’ reboot … but he still hopes to repeat his role as Goldberg goalkeeper later on the line.
Sources close to OG star ‘Mighty Ducks’ tell TMZ … Disney has never officially contacted Shaun about including him in the reboot of the TV series, although he has heard some rumors from other actors from that director Steven Brill had plans to bring him back.
Ultimately, Shaun never got the call … and our sources say he doubted he was welcome anyway, due to his criminal record.
As we already said … Shaun has fought drug addiction and was dealing with a number of life-threatening issues, living on the streets at one point and being arrested for meth and theft – but since then he has cleaned up his act and recently celebrated 1 year of sobriety.
Filming is already over on the 10-episode TV series, and it has recently been revealed that most of the original ‘Mighty Ducks’ stars have returned for a reunion episode.
We have been informed that Shaun hopes that Disney will eventually get in touch if the show is chosen for another season. The fact is that Shaun’s character was one of the most popular in OG films.
Our sources say that Shaun was very moved when he saw the trailer for the new ‘Mighty Ducks’ series. We were told that it gave him the chills and he found it incredible.
It looks like Shaun is going to be ready if Disney calls … he’s gained all his weight back and looks like Goldberg again, and we’re told he’s working on the scripts.
