There is no shortage of document scanning applications on Android, and Microsoft launched its own scanner in 2015. The application has continued to receive updates since then, making it our favorite document scanner, and now Microsoft is giving the application a redesign of brand with some new features.
Microsoft Office Lens is losing its Office name and will now simply be called Microsoft Lens. Despite the name change, there is also a new logo that matches the design of Microsoft Office icons, such as Word and Excel.
In terms of new features, the update adds Image to Text, Image to Table, Image to Contact, Immersive Reader (reads / translates the text aloud) and scanning QR code. The changes make Lens more aligned with competitors like Adobe Scan, although the Microsoft app still has the advantage of not requiring any online accounts.
You can join the Play Store beta to try the update now or download the APK APK from APKMirror.
