Microsoft released a new Xbox update earlier this week that features toggles for Auto HDR and FPS Boost and improvements to better support the new Xbox Wireless Headset. But there was another great feature that wasn’t mentioned in the official release notes: the update also fixes “many” of the Xbox Series X controller disconnect issues that arose, according to Jason Ronald of the Xbox team.
Lots of Xbox news this week, but in case you missed it, we released our Xbox system update from March yesterday.
In addition to the new features, this release also corrects many of the controller disconnections that players have reported.

Players began to report disconnection issues with the controllers just days after the console was released, and you can see some of these reports in this 89-page topic on Microsoft’s support forums. In January, however, Microsoft acknowledged that it was aware of the problems and said that the fixes would come “in a future update” in a statement to the The Verge.
We haven’t tested the new update to see if it fixes the problems that people have noticed. But if you have been experiencing disconnections from the controller, it looks like the new update might solve them for you.
