Microsoft is investigating an authentication problem impacting multiple Microsoft 365 cloud services, including Microsoft Teams, as well as Xbox Live.
The company said the problem started just after noon PT on Monday and can affect users worldwide. Update: Microsoft said is rolling back an update to its authentication system to mitigate the impact. Update # 2: Microsoft said it is dealing with “technical difficulties in reverting the problematic update. We are working to resolve these issues while exploring other remediation options in parallel. ” Update 3: Microsoft it says he has identified the underlying cause of the problem and is taking steps to mitigate the impact.
Microsoft will provide updates on the Azure status page, the Office status page, and at Twitter.

Microsoft is dealing with a widespread cyber security attack on its Exchange servers. It is unclear whether today’s interruption is connected. We will update this post as we learn more.
