Michelle Williams could be Peggy Lee in ‘Fever’ Biopic MGM

Dust that chimbau because Michelle Williams is ready to sing and dance again. Deadline reports that the Fosse / Verdon The Emmy winner is in talks to star singer and actress Peggy Lee in the next biopic Fever from director Todd Haynes. The film was first developed at Fox 2000 Pictures and initially had Reese Witherspoon as its star, but was archived after Nora Ephron, who wrote the original script, died in 2012. Witherspoon left the project after Fox 2000 ended up at Greater Disney -Fox Fusion 2019. But now, with Williams on board, the film has been revived, with MGM in negotiations to produce alongside Marc Platt, Witherspoon and Pamela Koffler and Christine Vachon through their production company Killer Films.

But that’s not all, folks! Grammy-winning prodigy Billie Eilish and her mother, Maggie Laird, are in talks to produce the film with their label partner, Justin Lubliner. True “Eyelashes” will know that Eilish credits Lee as a major musical influence on her and even participated in “100 Years of Peggy Lee”, a virtual discussion panel about her life and legacy last May. Lee was best known for her cover of Little Willie John’s “Fever”, to which she added her own lyrics, but has had a career spanning more than seven decades. She was also a talented actress, earning an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Pete Kelly blues. Will playing Lee finally solve the problem for the four-time Oscar Williams contest? It’s impossible to know, but given your track record of playing talented women, it can work.
