Michelle Obama is launching a cooking show on Netflix

Obama will be a star and executive producer of “Waffles + Mochi”, which will be available for streaming from March 16. Aimed at a younger audience, it will have two dolls, appropriately called Waffles and Mochi, and Obama as the owner of a supermarket. The show will chronicle their journey as they try to become chefs.

“With the help of new friendly faces like the owner of the supermarket, Mrs. Obama, and a magical flying shopping cart as a guide, Waffles and Mochi set out on global ingredient missions, traveling to kitchens, restaurants, farms and homes in around the world, preparing recipes with everyday ingredients alongside renowned chefs, home cooks, children and celebrities, “Netflix said in a statement describing the program’s premise.

This is just one of the former first lady’s many media ventures. Her documentary “Becoming” is already on Netflix and, in 2020, she launched a new podcast. Higher Ground Productions by Barack and Michelle Obama have a multi-year production contract with Netflix.
