Michael Che makes an anti-Semitic joke on “Saturday Night Live” that is already getting criticism from social media

Comedian Michael Che is already being criticized in the middle of “Saturday Night Live” for an anti-Semitic joke.

During the “Weekend Update”, Che joked that half the people in Israel had already been vaccinated and “I suppose it is half Jewish”.

Lorne Michaels, who is Jewish, cannot be happy. (He may not be happy with some other references to his personal wealth during the segment.)

Che is getting a lot of criticism and anger on Twitter right now. But even worse – anti-Semites are coming out, applauding the line. What a stupid thing he did. I don’t think this will be the end.

A tweeter said: Michael Che perpetrated an anti-Semitic and anti-Israel trope with his joke about the vaccine. Just to check the facts – Israel vaccinated 1/2 of its population of Israeli citizens – Arabs, Jews and Christians. Shame on you.

Other: WTF, SNL. His pointless joke about Israel vaccinating only Jews is not just a lie, but perpetuates anti-Semitism. Cheap shot that does more damage than the momentary, mean laugh you got with that lame joke excuse.
