After the Rams agreed to exchange Jared Goff for the Lions for Matthew Stafford, striker Michael Brockers said that Stafford had moved the Rams a “level up” in the defender’s position.

Brockers was a member of the Rams at the time of this comment, but that changed last week when Lions general manager Brad Holmes and Rams general manager Les Snead, former head of Holmes, became involved in another negotiation. Brockers is now Goff’s teammate again and he told reporters on Monday that he reached out to Goff to make sure there were no hard feelings.

“I just wanted to reach out to him as a man and show that I have a lot of respect for him, that it was no shot against him – just trying to increase the Rams’ (fan) base, ”said Brockers, through Chris Burke of TheAthletic.com.

Brockers signed a three-year contract with Rams last year, which he said shocked him to learn that he and Goff would be teammates once again this year. Thanks to his comments earlier this month, the shock came with a side of remorse.
