Michael B. Jordan is still mourning the loss of Chadwick Boseman, but is open to returning as Killmonger in the Black Panther franchise

The sudden and premature death of actor Chadwick Boseman in 2020 left many doubts about where the Black Panther franchise will go.

Michael B. Jordan, who starred in the film’s villain, Killmonger, revealed to the People Magazine that he is open to reprising the role in future films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The 33-year-old star also opened up about the loss of her friend and former castmate and said she was still in mourning.

When asked about Boseman’s passing at the age of 44, Jordan was candid about how difficult it has been to deal with.

“This is something very, very close and dear to my heart for several obvious reasons,” he said. ‘[I] I had a very difficult year losing someone close to me. And what that means for that franchise is that it was devastating. ‘

‘But being in that world in a character that I love to play and work with [writer/director Ryan Coogler] and all those good things, it’s family. We raised a family there, ‘explained Jordan.

Adding: ‘So being able to be in that world again is something that, I think, will always be on the table in some way.’

Boseman passed away from Stage IV colon cancer in August, which was first diagnosed in 2016, although it was never publicly disclosed until after his death.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said they would not use a CG Chadwick Boseman, nor would they recreate another actor like Rei T’challa. As for Jordan’s Killmonger, there are no plans for him to return, but rumors suggest it is a possibility.

The Creed actor spoke to People when promoting his new partnership with the International WELL Building Institute about his WELL Health and Safety Rating, which will provide a COVID safety rating for companies.

Meanwhile, The Sexiest Man Alive has been making headlines recently about his personal life and his new relationship with Lori Harvey.

The pair had been dating for a few months and were seen traveling together a few days before Thanksgiving. Clearly in love, the two looked more serious not long after, when they played together on New Year’s Eve.

Later, Michael and Lori – who nicknamed ‘Turtle’ and ‘Nugget’ – became Instagram officials on January 10.
