Deadline mentioned that this would happen several times, but Michael B. Jordan has now pledged to step forward for a new title: director. He will command the third installment of Belief, according to MGM, which dated the Thanksgiving film of 2022.
Jordan’s big moment – this is his directorial debut – was marred by his on-screen protagonist, Tessa Thompson, as a bid in an online interview. But most knew that it had been in the cards for several years, since Irwin Winkler, producer of the original Rocky movies and the Belief spinoffs, revealed that Jordan would be the director of the third film.
The screenplay is by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin, based on a sketch by Ryan Coogler. In addition to Thompson, Phylicia Rashad is also back. It was not mentioned whether Sylvester Stallone will answer the bell and bring his Rocky Balboa back.
