Miami’s new Waldorf Astoria opens with units starting at $ 1 million – Robb Report

In the Miami luxury condominium market, demand is outstripping supply. The city remains an attractive place for celebrities, athletes and businesspeople – David Beckham’s great ostentation of coverage last year is an excellent example. According to the Miami Association of Realtors, luxury transactions for a single family in the city increased 114% year on year in January 2021. Developers are jumping into this sales boom, most recently the Waldorf Astoria in Miami, which launches its home sales today.

The building will be an incredible 1,049 feet tall, making it the tallest residential tower south of Manhattan. It is an equally ambitious design, with a series of offset glass cubes stacked on top of each other. This look was designed by the designer Carlos Ott, best known for having built the Bastille Opera in Paris, and will be executed by Sieger Suarez, who has worked in other residential towers of the brand for companies such as Armani / Casa and Porsche. The briefing was simple: “How can we do something that seems very difficult – almost impossible – while we are really able to build it and it doesn’t cost a fortune?” says Ryan Shear, managing partner of Property Markets Group, the building’s developer, along with Greybrook Realty Partners. “It was a challenge to do something that seemed to be structurally challenging; which has an interesting facade. ”This ambition pays off. Because it is so tall, residents of the building will appreciate the panoramic view of the water nearby.

The developer hired California-based company BAMO to do the building’s interiors. Amenities will include the Peacock Alley specialty restaurant, a deck with a resort-style pool with private cabanas, meeting and board rooms, spa and gym. The condominiums themselves will feature smart home technology, so residents can browse various concierge services through an app. Restaurant reservations, valet services and dog tours can be performed with just a few taps.
