With Matt Haack set to become a free agent, the Miami Dolphins need a new bettor and it looks like they’ve found the guy, as Tom Pelissero announced on Twitter this morning:
THE #Dolphins are signing ex #Panthers punter Michael Palardy for a one-year contract, by source.
It is the homecoming of Palardy, the former highlight of preparation in Fort Lauderdale. He is totally healthy and was one of the NFL’s most productive punters during his three seasons in Carolina.

Michael Palardy is returning home to South Florida, where he played football at St. Thomas Aquinas School. He jumped on some teams before finding a home with the Carolina Panthers in 2016. Palardy didn’t play last season due to tearing up his ACL during the team’s off-season.
With Palardy signed, this should end Matt Haack’s tenure with the Dolphins. He had his good games, but there were times when he was a little too inconsistent. Since Brian Flores took over, the Dolphins’ special team unit has been a delight to watch, with all the tricks they perform. Who can forget Haack by playing a touchdown for Jason Sanders in 2019 outside of the Mountaineer Shot game, which ended up being the NFL game of the year.
