Miami Dolphins loses to Carson, but adds linebacker

There were rumors that the Miami Dolphins would be close to an agreement with running back Chris Carson, but today they signed a linebacker.

Chris Carson will not be joining the Miami Dolphins. Instead, he chose to stay in Seattle for at least another season. There were rumors that the Dolphins were involved in close negotiations with their agent, but the terms could not be agreed and now the Dolphins are going elsewhere or for the draft.

Miami didn’t sit well today, however, and they continued to steal players from the Houston Texans list. Brennan Scarlett would have agreed to a contract with the Dolphins.

The accelerated linebacker will provide the necessary depth for Dolphins. He has been in the league since 2016 and will sign a one-year contract. In his time with Houston, he has 22 matches in 56 games and 5.5. Total sacks with 139 tackles.

The problem with Scarlett is that her bags have arrived in two seasons. He has three seasons in which he has not recorded any sack. The supposedly low value of his contract will give Dolphins value and it will be interesting to see how he fulfills the need that Miami has on the edge.

Scarlett is a bargain and nothing more, but he can provide some depth and decent experience in a defense that lost Kyle Van Noy when he was surprisingly released before the free agency.

The Dolphins have been methodical in their free agency approach this year and, although they have not spent much on anyone, they have been smart with their money.
