The loved ones of the 24-year-old Pennsylvania woman who allegedly was drugged and raped and later found dead in a hotel room in Miami Beach are remembering her as an “incredible human being” and a “beautiful girl”.
The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office is still working to determine the cause of Christine Englehardt’s death after the young woman’s half-naked body was discovered Thursday at the Albion Hotel in South Beach, according to reports.
Investigators determined that she was drugged and sexually abused, reported the Miami Herald and the New York Post. The suspects then reportedly stole their credit cards and left less than an hour after arriving.

Evoire Collier, 21, and Dorian Taylor, 24 – both from Greensboro, North Carolina – were arrested and charged with sexual assault, assault theft, petty theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, the Herald reported. More charges could occur, depending on the coroner’s determination, officials said.
Collier told investigators that Taylor allegedly gave Englehardt a “green pill”, which he believed to be Percocet, according to the Herald.

As the investigation continues, loved ones are mourning the loss of Englehardt, a young woman whose “life was taken from her”, according to a GoFundMe created to raise money for the funeral and memorial costs.
“Anyone who knows this beautiful girl knows that she had the biggest heart there was and her laugh was nothing short of memorable,” says the fundraising page. “She would do anything for someone in need and it was always fun to be around, no matter what.”
GoFundMe describes how Englehardt’s assailants don’t deserve the spotlight and “stole this woman’s entire future in a very sick way and made her mother and father very sad.”

“I am not going to talk about what happened to her because it is not about that,” continues the page. “This is about her life and how the family deserves to be helped by creating such an incredible human being, but she was taken from us very early.”
As of Wednesday morning, the page raised $ 29,332, more than $ 9,000 above the $ 20,000 target.
Frighteningly, in a post on his alleged July 2019 Facebook page, Englehardt asked his followers to “go with [their] gut “after she had a frightening experience with what she believed to be a” predator scheme “.
“So if you ever feel insecure in any way or feel that something is not right, DO NOT hesitate to notify the police,” she wrote at the time. “Please be on the lookout for any suspicious person or car. This is a dangerous world now, unfortunately and you never know what someone’s true intentions are.”

Meanwhile, Taylor and Collier were in Miami court on Monday, where Collier’s sister asked him to be handed over to the family, according to a broadcast shared by NBC Miami.
“I am seriously perplexed by these charges and charges against him, but I can attest to his character and I can attest to the responsibility for him being tried on any charges,” the woman told Judge Mindy S. Glazer. “If you, please, let my brother come home and let our family handle the situation properly, we will do whatever is necessary that Miami-Dade County asks us to do.”
Glazer finally ordered the two men to be detained without bail, according to the Daily Mail.
