Mets still ‘hungry’ after Francisco Lindor’s move: Sandy Alderson

Mets cannot be done.

After exchanging the team’s blockbuster for Francisco Lindor (which also included Carlos Carrasco), Mets president Sandy Alderson did not deny the possibility that Mets would continue to chase the stars in this off-season.

“We are always hungry,” he said reporters when asked if Mets still had an appetite for another big move.

Alderson’s words leave open the possibility that the team could still hire field star George Springer, who was considered his top priority out of season.

In Lindor, the Mets won an All Star four times and a .285 career hitter widely regarded as one of the league’s best shortstops at age 27.

Acquiring Lindor was not Mets’ first significant deal this season.

Previously, they signed 2019 2019 All-Star Seeker James McCann with a $ 40.6 million four-year contract and the right-handed Trevor May with a $ 15.5 million two-year contract.
