The new MET Manta MIPS makes the aerodynamic helmet of the Italian brand even more secure and energy efficient. MET has had its design teams slightly remodel the Manta in a wind tunnel and add a sliding plane to the fixing lining.
The new Manta MIPS has an even more aerodynamic structure than its predecessor. Its nine high-end ventilation openings have been remodeled and the rear section has a rear deflector, which helps to better channel airflow, providing a fresher and more comfortable travel experience, especially in sweat conditions.
With the help of the Newton aeronautical laboratory in Milan, MET reformed the rear of the Manta, keeping the NACA manifold mounted on top and providing eight exhaust points for the air flow. In comparative wind tunnel tests, MET’s technical team observed an efficient gain of 3w, in terms of average drag, compared to the previous generation’s Manta.
The adjustment ergonomics uses a 360-degree fastening belt to reduce stitch pressure and a magnetic Fidlock buckle, which can be easily attached and untied, even with a gloved hand.
Better protection
Manta’s MIPS lining increases its protection rating, especially for angular impacts that can cause brain damage to soft tissues and allows a 10 to 15 mm impact-absorbing movement.
In addition to the improved aerodynamic properties, safety and comfort, the Manta MIPS also has an integrated fitting for your sunglasses, with two front openings dedicated to the purpose of keeping your sunglasses in place safely.
The helmet’s launch color is deep red, while the entire color palette has six strong shades. The sizes are small, medium and large, with a reference weight of 250g. MET is selling Manta MIPS for £ 220.
