Meghan Markle’s ‘Suits’ co-star Wendell Pierce criticizes Oprah’s interview for drawing the attention of the pandemic

Meghan Markle’s former “Suits” co-star is unhappy.

Actor Wendell Pierce recently spoke to British radio station LBC and spoke about the bombshell interview between Markle, her husband, Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey, in which royalty discussed everything from their family relationships to their mental health struggles.

Pierce played Markle’s father in the legal drama, having appeared in 36 episodes on IMDb, while Markle is credited with 108 appearances.

During his radio interview, Pierce, 57, criticized the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for doing the interview in the midst of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, according to reports.

“Today, 3,000 people are going to die in America because of Covid,” he said, according to the Daily Mail and the Independent. “A few hundred people are going to die, even at this hour, in the UK.”

Furthermore, he said that the interview with the former actress and Prince Harry evoked Shakespeare’s famous phrase “full of sound and fury that means nothing” of “Macbeth”.

Pierce said he found it “quite insensitive and offensive that we are all complicit in this type of palace … gossip in the midst of so much death. I think it is insignificant.”

He clarified that he was criticizing “everyone” involved, including Winfrey, the CBS and ITV television networks, Harry, Markle and the Palace.

The actor also insisted that the royal family should not be involved in such matters, but “focus on the pain of death we are in”.

The royal duo spoke about how racism has played a role in their lives, even claiming that a member of the Institution talked to Harry about the color of their unborn child.

Pierce, who has not spoken to Markle since 2019, said that despite race playing such a central role in the stories of the “Suits” chacters, he did not discuss the matter much with her.

“We didn’t have long discussions about it, other than what was in the script and what was going on in our personal lives,” he said.

In 2018, Pierce revealed that he shared one last special moment with Markle before she said goodbye to “Suits” after her engagement to Harry.

Pierce told the UK Telegraph that he still “keeps” a memory with Markle before filming the end of season 7 – the last episode they starred in together.

He told Markle, who appeared as Rachel Zane in the legal drama, who was friends with her “no matter where you are or what’s going on”.

Representatives for Pierce, Harry and Markle did not immediately respond to Fox News’s request for comment.
