The friendship of royalty and best friend was documented in the explosive biography Finding Freedom

The friendship of royalty and best friend was documented in the explosive biography Finding Freedom

Earlier this year, the bombshell biography Finding Freedom, co-authored by journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, which documents the friendship of Meghan Markle and Misha.

He claims how Markus Anderson, global director of members of Soho Houses, supplied royalty to a number of business and cultural elites – both in Canada and elsewhere.

The authors wrote: ‘At a lunch at the Soho House in Miami, he was the one who sat the actress next to Misha, a rising stylist with a lively personality and impeccable pedigree.

“The occasion for the trip to Miami in December 2014 was Art Basel, a decadent art fair that brings the rich and famous internationally for a week of parties and events of all types and sizes.

‘Markus invited Meghan, an art lover, to stay at the epicenter of the action, Soho Beach House, to sunbathe, see some art and have fun.

‘A perfect place to make new friends and connections, the Soho house event saw Misha and Meghan get along immediately.’

The explosive biography suggests that Misha and Markus were behind the first meeting of Meghan and Prince Harry.

It is believed that the Duchess’s close friends had a blind date with the duo, who now lives in the United States.

Earlier this year, the stylist confessed to ‘missing her friends very much’ while being quarantined in New York with Leo – and revealed that she ‘needs her friends to laugh and do light things’ when speaking to People magazine.

Misha and her husband, oil heir Mikey Hess, 33, announced the birth of their first child, Leo, in March.

Since then, the first time the mother has struggled to connect virtually with friends, saying: ‘It is very stressful not to have a normal life to go back to – I knew that having a baby would change my life, but I never expected it.

– I really missed seeing my friends. As soon as Leo was born, we would already be at the store, seeing friends and we would already be in London and, obviously, all these plans are on hold ”, added the designer.

In the meantime, the stylist has taken advantage of FaceTime, but admits ‘it’s not the same’.

“As a new mother, you need a support network and I definitely miss spending time in person with my baby and my friends,” she explained.

‘I miss having my friends to laugh and do light things. This is a challenging, stressful and disconcerting moment, but we have to wait for the time when we can all be together. ‘

However, Misha said she ‘really enjoyed’ the time she was able to have with the family, as her husband would be traveling on business under normal circumstances.

During pregnancy, Misha told People that the Duchess of Sussex had shared her advice on becoming a mother for the first time.

The designer revealed: ‘As with all friendships, you share lots of tips and everything.’

The baby’s announcement came less than a year after her close friend Meghan gave birth to baby Archie in May 2019.

Misha married her husband Mikey at a ceremony in Rome in September attended by Prince Harry, Meghan, Princess Eugenie, 29, and Princess Beatrice, 31 before announcing her pregnancy later in the year.

The Duchess continued to support her friend wearing Misha Nonoo styles over the years and wore the famous ‘boyfriend shirt’ on her first appearance alongside Prince Harry, and also wore another of Misha’s designs on her last day of Kingdom meetings United before stepping back from royal duties.

Misha, who worked with the Duchess on her Smart Works charity clothing line, opened FEMAIL earlier this year on her friendship with royalty.

Reflecting on the experience of working together, Misha described Meghan as ‘the ultimate professional’ and very ‘considerate’ of the women the collection was helping.

“It was such an ideal and incredibly easy collaboration,” she said. ‘It was, from start to finish, wonderful, thoughtful, thoughtful, like her.’
