Meghan Markle will probably never return to the UK, says the author: ‘People in Britain feel betrayed by her’

EXCLUSIVE: A real author doesn’t expect Meghan Markle to visit the UK anytime soon.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved away from royal duties last year and moved to California, saying they wanted to escape racist coverage and unwanted intrusions into their privacy by the British media.

Prince Harry, Markle’s husband, is due to meet with his older brother, Prince William, at Kensington Palace for what would have been his mother’s 60th birthday, Princess Diana. The statue of the late princess was commissioned by the brothers in 2017 and will be inaugurated on July 1st.

The former American actress, 39, is expecting a girl this summer.

“Meghan Markle will return to the UK? My speculative answer would be no, not if she could help it,” royal author Anna Pasternak told Fox News.

“Unfortunately, I can’t imagine her becoming a dear and dear member of the royal family with the unified respect and adoration of the British people,” Pasternak shared. “I think that ship left.”

Pasternak had previously written about the other divorced American woman who married a royal member for a book entitled “The Real Wallis Simpson”. The British writer traced Simpson’s last circle of close friends who wanted to clarify his controversial life.

Pasternak said he is not surprised by the recent reaction that the former “Suits” star faced in the UK

On March 7, CBS aired a two-hour interview that the couple did with Oprah Winfrey. During the television session, the Duke of Sussex, 36, revealed that his relationship with his father, Prince Charles, 72, and older brother William, 38, had broken up.

Markle described feeling so isolated and miserable within the royal family that she had thoughts of suicide. When she asked for mental health help from the palace’s human resources team, Markle was told that they could not help because she was not a paid employee. The Duchess of Sussex also claimed that a member of the royal family had “concerns” about the skin color of her unborn child.

The family member was not Queen Elizabeth II, 94, or Prince Philip, 99, according to Harry, sparking a wave of speculation about who it might be.

Harry also told the media mogul, 67, that the royal family cut him off in early 2020 after announcing plans to step aside from his roles. But he was able to guarantee his family’s safety because of the money Diana left behind.

“Many people think the interview was a total lack of respect for the monarchy and, in a sense, for the British,” explained Pasternak. “Because the monarchy is part of the British psyche. Therefore, this aggression against the monarchy can also be seen as a British aggression. And, by personal knowledge, it is understood that Prince Charles, Prince William, Duchess Kate Middleton and Queen – they were very shocked and saddened by [the allegations]. “

According to Pasternak, despite the relentless UK tabloids targeting Markle during her relationship with Harry, the British people were eager to embrace the television star. In the early days of their marriage, the couple was seen as the new face of the monarchy for an increasingly multicultural nation.

“We fully embrace it,” said Pasternak. “We adopted this incredible marriage. We were delighted with the ‘Markle Sparkle’. And we were touched by Harry, who in a way was the son of our nation. We all saw him walking behind his mother’s coffin and all of our hearts were with him.

“We loved Harry and were thrilled for him when he found this beautiful American actress for his wife. We really were. But they didn’t stay long and half-way into this self-imposed exile. Not only that, but they criticized the whole thing, that it looked like they were throwing it back in our faces. “

“At first, we really liked Meghan because she was not an aristocrat,” Pasternak continued. “In fact, she was a really ambitious and wonderful woman. So, I think, in a way, a lot of people in Britain feel betrayed by her.”

During the interview, Harry told Winfrey that he felt that his family did not support Markle, who acknowledged his naivete about real life before marrying the prince, while she endured media attacks and false stories.

In response to a question from Winfrey, Harry said that he wouldn’t have left real life if he hadn’t married Markle. However, their relationship revealed the restrictions of real life.

Markle also admitted that she was naive about the basic rules of real life before marrying her husband almost three years ago.

“I didn’t fully understand what the job was,” said Markle. “I have to say that I went naively because I didn’t grow up knowing a lot about the royal family. It wasn’t something that was part of the conversations at home. It wasn’t something we followed.”

Pasternak said he believed Markle really had no idea what she got into when she joined the royal family.

“No one is going to go in and shake the Windsor house completely,” said Pasternak. “It just won’t happen because the reason it has lasted so long, is actually because very little has changed. Powerful women who get married in the Windsor house don’t get along. They certainly don’t do well. They’re the ones who are stoics, they continue to head down and do your duty like Kate and Camilla who endure. “

“Look at Camilla, who came to have the worst media ever,” Pasternak shared. “She never spoke and put duty first when she joined the family. Since then, she has achieved that status of national treasure by the people … The only thing you cannot do as a member of the royal family is to have an opinion. You have to remain impartial, apolitical and just smile. In many ways, Meghan was very smart for that and very excited and insightful. “

According to Pasternak, the biggest mistake you can make when joining “The Firm” is to confuse celebrity with royalty.

“Joining the family brings with it many restrictions that Meghan clearly did not want,” she said. “You can’t mistake celebrity for royalty. Duty always comes first.”

When asked what she believes the future holds for the couple, Pasternak replied, “That’s the million-dollar question.”

“I can see Meghan being supported by powerful people and eventually trying to get a political position,” she said. “I think she has an ambition that knows no bounds. So I wouldn’t be so surprised if it were on her agenda. All the power for her, if that’s what she really wants.”
