Meghan Markle chose a very special glow for her next interview with Oprah Winfrey.
In a new teaser of the tell-all, which will air on March 7 on CBS, the Duchess of Sussex, 39, is seen decorating her black floral embroidered Armani dress with various pieces of jewelry – including a diamond bracelet from Diana Princess Collection.
Markle first dressed in sparkling Cartier style at an official dinner in Fiji during her royal tour of Oceania with Prince Harry in October 2018; she later used it at a reception in Tonga that same month, as well as to observe Community Day in 2019.
Notably, it is also the same bracelet that was used to make the Duchess’s three-stone engagement ring in 2017.
“The main stone itself is from Botswana, and the small diamonds [on] both sides are from my mom’s jewelry collection to make sure she’s with us on this – this crazy trip together ”, Prince Harry, 36, explained at the time.
“The inclusion of this and, obviously, not being able to meet your mother, is so important to me – to know that she is part of this with us,” added Markle.
Although the Sussex have since moved away from their royal roles, it is clear that their connection to the late Princess of Wales remains. “They wanted to use the bracelet to have [Harry’s] mother there with them during the interview, ”a Duchess spokesman told the“ Today ”program of her look for the meeting with Winfrey, 67.
Markle has worn a variety of precious pieces from her mother-in-law in recent years, from the stunning aquamarine ring she chose for her 2018 wedding reception to the gold cuff and butterfly earrings she wore in Australia that same year.
It makes sense for the Duchess to use a piece of Diana for her interview with Oprah, as the tragic fate of the royal deceased appears to be a major point of discussion during the TV special.
“My biggest concern was history repeating itself,” Harry shares in the video teaser. “I’m very relieved and happy to be sitting here talking to you with my wife by my side, because I can’t even imagine what it must have been like for her to go through this process alone all these years ago.”
The duke added: “It has been incredibly difficult for both of us, but at least we had each other.”
