Meghan Markle secretly removed her first names from Archie’s birth certificate, in what is being described as a “nod to Princess Diana”.
When Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born in May 2019, details of his birth certificate were revealed – which showed Rachel Meghan, Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Sussex, using her full name to record the birth of her first child.
But now it turned out that just a month later, in June, the couple removed Meghan’s first names from the birth certificate – leaving only Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Sussex.
While it is not clear why such changes were made, royal viewers called the move – which came just a few months before the couple stepped down as a senior royal member – as “notable”.

Royal specialist Ingrid Seward told The Sun: “For a real, changing a birth certificate is unprecedented, but removing proper names is remarkable.
“Perhaps this is another sign that they were desperate to do something different with the Cambridges.”
The move could be in honor of Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana – who has historically always been for Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales, instead of her birth name.
The news comes a few days after it was revealed that Meghan “probably” will be home when Prince Harry returns to the UK this summer.
Despite having stepped back as royalty last year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were due to attend several important events on the royal calendar – including the Duke of Edinburgh’s 100th anniversary celebration and the Color Troop in June.
In July, a statue created in honor of Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, will be inaugurated in the Sunken Gardens at Buckingham Palace.
While both events are incredibly close to Prince Harry’s heart, it is believed that the Fabulous Four meeting could prevent meaning and cause a furor in the media. Hence Meghan’s decision to stay home.
A source revealed: “Harry wants to go back to the Queen and Prince Philip’s big birthdays. But it looks like it’s just him.
“If Meghan comes back, the feeling is that it would overshadow the occasion. People would just be looking at the ‘drama’ of it all.”
