Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are reportedly still coming to terms with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
During the meeting, Markle, 39, spoke about a rumor that she left Middleton, 39, in tears before the royal wedding due to a disagreement over bridesmaid dresses. The former American actress said “the reverse happened”, but Middleton “was the owner, she apologized and brought me flowers and an apologizing note”.
“They really seem to want a narrative of a hero and a villain,” said Markle of the British tabloids that covered the initial allegations. “She’s a good person. A lot of what I’ve seen happen is this idea of polarity, where if you love me, you don’t have to hate her. And if you love her, you don’t have to hate me.”
As for Harry, 36, the prince acknowledged that he does not have a close relationship with William, 38, describing him as “space”.

“William and Kate were in total shock after hearing what Meghan and Harry said,” a source told the new issue of Us Weekly on Wednesday.

“What shocked them most was Meghan’s suicidal thoughts and her quotes about a member of the royal family mentioning Archie’s skin color,” the source continued. “William and Kate knew about some of their problems with the palace helpers, but nothing about this.”
Winfrey, 67, asked Markle how her mental health was affected during her time as a real worker. Markle admitted that she had suicidal thoughts and sought help through the palace’s human resources department, but was told that there was nothing they could do.
Markle also revealed that it was difficult for her to understand why there were concerns in the royal family about her son’s skin color. She said it was difficult for her to “compartmentalize” those conversations.

While Harry and Markle never identified who made the comments because they would be “harmful”, Winfrey later said they were not Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Archie’s great-grandparents.
Off camera, Prince Harry confirmed that it was not his grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, who questioned Archie’s skin color.

The palace source claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge “felt horrible” for the Sussex. However, the source said the couple “still wish” that they “did not try to overthrow the royal family” on TV.
“William and Kate think these conversations could have been made in private,” added the source to the channel.
A representative of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did not immediately respond to Fox News’s request for comment.
During the interview, Harry detailed how his relationship with the royal family was affected.

“There’s a lot to work out there,” said Harry of his relationship with his father, Prince Charles. “I feel very disappointed. He went through something similar. He knows what the pain is like. And Archie is his grandson. I will always love him, but a lot of hurt has happened.”
Harry said the royal family cut him off in early 2020 after announcing plans to step away from his roles. But he was able to guarantee the safety of his family because of the money his mother, Princess Diana, left behind.

As for William, Harry said he loved his older brother “in pieces”, even though the relationship was “spatial”.
“He’s my brother,” said Harry. “We went through hell together. But we are on different paths … Time heals all things, I hope.”

The worldwide audience for the shocking encounter of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with the media mogul amounts to almost 50 million – and continues to increase. CBS, which originally broadcast the interview on Sunday night, scheduled a replay on Friday night.
Charles, 72, did not speak about the couple’s interview during a visit to a vaccine clinic in London on Tuesday. The visit was the Prince of Wales’s first public appearance since the meeting and came amid growing pressure on Buckingham Palace to respond to the accusations.
Sources claimed that Prince Charles was “desperate” about the revelation.

Soon afterwards, Buckingham Palace issued a statement.
“The whole family is saddened to learn how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” said a Palace statement provided to Fox News on Tuesday. “The issues raised, particularly those of race, are worrisome. Although some memories may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be dealt with privately by the family.”

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be very dear members of the family,” concluded the statement.
Representatives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made no comment when contacted by Fox News.

Markle and Harry were married at Windsor Castle in May 2018. Their son, Archie, was born a year later. In January 2020, the couple announced that they were ceasing to be a senior member of the British royal family. They now reside in California.
