Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were a little more involved in American politics than previously thought, according to a report.
The duo had an hour-long video meeting with California Governor Gavin Newsom on October 19, less than a month before the presidential election, The Sun reported.
It is not known what Harry and Meghan discussed with Newsom during the meeting, which occurred when Newsom was deciding who would take the seat of Vice President Kamala Harris in the United States Senate.
The governor finally chose Alex Padilla to succeed Harris.
Royalty is expected to stay out of politics.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had already irritated many royal sentences by urging Americans to vote in the dispute between then President Trump and current President Joe Biden.
“As we approach in November, it is vital that we reject hate speech, misinformation and negativity online,” said Harry in September.
Markle added: “There are six weeks to go to the elections and today is the day of the voter registration. Every four years, we hear the same thing: ‘This is the most important election of our life’. But this is. “
Newsom’s office, which declined to say what was discussed during the October meeting, did not immediately return a request for comment from The Post.
