A new hire of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle raised eyebrows due to an essay published last year in which she described “non-black” people as “full of internalized racism and unconscious prejudice”.
Archewell, the organization founded by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, recently hired Invisible Hand strategist Genevieve Roth, who describes himself as an “agency of social impact and cultural change”.
Roth, a former Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign employee, wrote an article published in Good Housekeeping after George Floyd’s death about the challenges she faces with her black husband as part of her interracial marriage.
“I started to realize that something bigger was at stake: he is a black man raised in the south. I am a white woman raised in Alaska. [W]hiteness, and mine [W]That privilege really got in the way, “wrote Roth.” I kind of thought we had everything under control. We do not. Almost immediately, I started to understand my [W]eliminate unconscious privileges and prejudices in new and disturbing ways.

She then listed examples of apparent advantages she had as a white woman over her husband in various social situations, including interactions with the police and salary negotiations.
“It doesn’t matter how many marches I planned or how many progressive candidates I campaigned or how many times I shouted Black Lives Matter on the streets: I am filled with internalized racism and unconscious prejudice. And for all non-Black people reading this, we need to clarify one thing. : you too, “Roth insisted. “We have lost our sense of guilt, misunderstanding racial inequality as something to empathize with, rather than something we create and are exclusively obliged to resolve.”

Earlier this month, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry raised heavy accusations against the British royal family during a revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey, including allegations that there were concerns about how dark her son Archie’s skin would be before he was born.
Buckingham Palace issued a statement saying its racial accusations were “worrying” and were “taken very seriously and will be dealt with privately by the family”.
