This morning, Princess Eugenie gave birth to her first child, a boy, at Portland Hospital in London. Proud dad Jack Brooksbank was there for the delivery, and Buckingham Palace recently confirmed that the mother and baby are doing well. Eugenie even posted a photo of her newborn’s hand on her personal Instagram account this afternoon. Naturally, there is much excitement about the youngest member of the royal family, and the official announcement of the birth revealed that Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh were “delighted” to hear the news of their ninth great-grandson. Eugenie’s mother and father, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, and Jack’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brooksbank, were also “delighted” by the arrival of their grandson. And while the Sussex did not make a public statement about their excitement for the newest royal baby, they congratulated Jack and Eugenie in particular. Prior to their move to Windsor, the Sussex lived close to Jack and Eugenie at Kensington Palace, and are believed to be very close.
The newborn’s name has not yet been made public, and this delay is a real tradition.
