Meghan Markle is reportedly already networking with senior Democrats to help her in her ambitions to become the first female president of the United States.
The Duchess of Sussex previously told friends about her political ambitions – and now hopes that her successful interview with Oprah Winfrey will strengthen support in the United States, sources told the Mail on Sunday newspaper.
She has been openly networking with senior Democrats to help form fundraising teams and a campaign for the White House, according to a senior UK politician who served in former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and has ties with Washington.
“The networks of the Blairite, internationalist and Democratic parties are teeming with conversations about the political ambitions of Meghan and her potential supporters,” the anonymous source told the UK newspaper.
Markle, 39, is thinking about the 2024 campaign if President Biden, who will be 82, decides not to run for a second term, the source said. If successful, it would make her the first female president of the United States.
Her biographer and friend, Omid Scobie, also previously said that the former actress “has her eyes set on the United States presidency.”
