Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, made a formal complaint to the UK broadcaster about Piers Morgan’s comments

ITV announced on Tuesday that Morgan would leave the show it presented, “Good Morning Britain”, after casting doubt on whether Meghan had suicidal thoughts, an important revelation of her successful interview with Oprah Winfrey.

“After discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan decided that now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain,” said ITV on Tuesday. “ITV accepted this decision and has nothing more to add.”

CNN understands that Meghan’s complaint to the ITV concerned the impact that Morgan’s comments could have on others and how it could degrade the seriousness of mental health problems. The complaint was unrelated to the personal nature of Morgan’s attacks.
Piers Morgan criticized Meghan for the co-host:

In Monday’s edition of “Good Morning Britain”, Morgan questioned whether the Duchess was being sincere about having suicidal thoughts. His comments sparked a great deal of controversy in Britain, and he was scolded by the charity charity Mind.

UK media regulator Ofcom said it had received more than 41,000 complaints about Monday’s edition of “Good Morning Britain” and launched an investigation under its “damage and wrongdoing rules”.

On Wednesday, Morgan said he “still” doesn’t believe Meghan.

“I had time to reflect on that opinion and I have not yet [believe her], “Morgan tweeted.” If you did, OK. Freedom of speech is a hill on which I am happy to die. Thank you for all the love and hate. I will spend more time with my opinions. “
