Although no one across the country hit the $ 520 million jackpot on Friday, five tickets to the second prize were sold, including one in New Jersey. Each combined five numbers, but not the Mega Ball.

The happy New Jersey ticket was purchased at the Jersey Bagel & Food Mart on Sicklerville Road, in the Sicklerville neighborhood of Winslow, New Jersey Lottery officials said on Monday.

A New York ticket is worth $ 2 million because it was purchased with the Mega Ball option for an extra $ 1.

Georgia and Massachusetts tickets are also valued at $ 1 million, while California tickets are valued at $ 576,869.

California lottery prizes vary depending on ticket sales and the number of winners. They differ from the second fixed prizes offered in other participating states.

Friday’s winning numbers were: 3, 6, 16, 18 and 58. The Mega Ball drawn was 11 with a Megaplier of 2X.

The last time a lottery player won the Mega Millions grand prize was on September 15, 2020, when a $ 120 million ticket was sold in Wisconsin. The two biggest jackpots were hit in New Jersey in 2020. An anonymous winner won the $ 202 million prize on February 11th with a ticket sold at Edison and a $ 124 million ticket was purchased in Bayonne for the July 24th draw. .

Mega Millions tickets cost $ 2 each and in New Jersey they must be purchased by 10:45 pm on the night of the draw. The chances of a ticket hitting the jackpot when hitting five numbers and the Mega Ball are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 chance of winning the second prize of at least $ 1 million by hitting five numbers.

Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington DC and the US Virgin Islands.

The New Jersey Lottery office in Lawrence is open to the public by appointment. You can still claim your earnings – as long as they are less than $ 599.50 – in person at any retailer.

The lottery is also accepting claims by mail, although officials warn that payments may be temporarily delayed. Winners are advised to make copies of the application form and the winning ticket for their records.
