The three categories of these prestigious awards in South Carolina are The Order of Palmetto, The Order of the Silver Crescent + The Certificate of Appreciation. Those who received this special honor “made significant contributions to the life + welfare of South Carolina and its people. “
🏅 The Order of Palmetto
- Highest state civil honor
- Awarded to citizens for extraordinary lifetime service + achievements of national or state importance
- Unique achievement in life
- North Charleston High School principal, Henry Darby, recently received this award for making national news while working on a third job at Walmart to earn extra money to support families in high school.

🏅 The Order of the Silver Crescent
- Highest civilian award in the state
- Awarded to those who have made significant contributions, leadership, volunteering + lifelong influence within a region or community
- Unique achievement in life
- Robert E. Bohrn, a local relic hunter, recently received this award after discovering the remains of African American soldiers from the Civil War Union of the 55th Massachusetts Voluntary Infantry in 1987.
