MDH: 2 new COVID-related deaths, 611 cases reported recently

Of the 611 new cases notified, 58 of them are noted as probable cases, according to the MDH. A total of 21,861 probable cases have been reported since antigen testing began in September.

So far, 6,378 people have died of coronavirus in Minnesota. Of these deaths, 265 are listed as probable deaths from COVID-19. Of the total deaths reported as of Monday, 4,016 occurred in long-term care facilities.

To date, 25,197 patients with COVID-19 have been hospitalized in Minnesota and 5,197 patients admitted to the ICU.

According to the MDH, the new positive cases of COVID-19 in Minnesota reported on Monday have raised the state total to 474,169 since the pandemic records began. A total of 460,537 patients have recovered or are recovering and no longer need isolation.

On Monday, approximately 6.99 million COVID-19 tests were completed in Minnesota.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe breathing problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. Some patients report loss of smell and / or taste and muscle pain, headache, sore throat and / or chills and tremors.

Observation: According to the MDH – “As all data is preliminary, the change in the number of cumulative positive cases and deaths from one day to the next may not be the same as the new cases or deaths reported.”
