The actor shared that during the recent storms, he and his family “broke some pipes” and had to boil water for a while.

Matthew McConaughey appeared in The Tonight Show on Friday to talk about the charity concert he’s performing in Texas this weekend.

But first, he and dawn host Jimmy Fallon talked briefly about their affection for drafts. Jimmy appeared from his own draft, while McConaughey said he had three of them in his backyard and he and his family slept in one the night before.

The conversation then turned to the Dallas Buyers Club actor’s book Greenlights, which was written not as a traditional memoir, but rather as a “playbook” based on the adventures of his life.

Noting that it is still number one New York Times bestseller, Fallon asked if there could be a sequel one day. “I don’t want to shuffle the souffle,” McConaughey joked, adding that he would love to write something else at some point. He read 36 journals for the book, but used only 25% of the material – so there is much more to explore.

On speculation that one day he would run for governor of Texas, McConaughey addressed the rumor by explaining: “It is something I am considering. Certainly. What an honorable thing to consider,” said the actor before turning a mouth. “I am no further than that now, sir.”

Speaking about the recent storms in Texas, the actor confirmed that his family is doing well. “We had some broken pipes,” he said, adding that they had to boil the water for a while. He clarified that tens of thousands of people were in far worse shape.

This Sunday, McConaughey will present the benefit concert “Somos Texas”, with performances by Kelly Clarkson, Post Malone, Khalid, George Strait, Willie Nelson, Gary Clark Jr. and many more. Among those who will make appearances will be Jamie Foxx, Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez and Woody Harrelson. The event, which will be broadcast on YouTube, will benefit from McConaughey’s “Just Keep Livin” aid fund.

The actor is currently in negotiations to star in the limited HBO series A time of mercy, an adaptation of the John Grisham novel and a sequence of Time to kill. McConaughey would repeat his role in the 1996 police drama.
