BOSTON (WHDH) – Massachusetts announced on Friday an update to its low-risk travel list, adding three states that residents can now visit without having to complete a travel form, take the COVID-19 test and quarantine.

The Department of Public Health added the states of Missouri, Oregon and Washington to the list, which previously included only Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

The states included in the lowest risk list are based on the fulfillment of two criteria: average daily cases per 100,000 people below 10 and a positive test rate below 5 percent.

Anyone entering Massachusetts from restricted states must be quarantined for 14 days and complete the Massachusetts Travel Form, unless they can produce a negative test within 72 hours.

Failure to follow these steps can result in a $ 500 fine.

Even with the reduction in new cases of COVID-19, the state is still asking residents to avoid traveling to high-risk states.
