A mass shooting at a house party in North Carolina killed three people and wounded four others, marking the last in a series of fatal shootings that rocked the country.
The Wilmington Police Department said it was investigating the shooting, which occurred shortly after midnight on Friday.
Police responding to the scene found that “a gunfire broke out inside the house during a party and seven people were shot.”
“Three of the seven are deceased. The remaining four victims are being treated at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center, ”added the department.
Police are still notifying the victims’ relatives and confirmed to The Hill that there are currently no suspects in the shooting.
“Our hearts are with everyone affected by this senseless violence, and we ask that anyone with information about this incident comes forward so that we can find justice,” wrote the department. on the social networks.
The North Carolina shooting is one of at least two that were reported only on Saturday. Three people were also killed in Maryland early on Saturday morning after a shootout there.
The shootings follow other incidents in recent days in California, Colorado and Georgia. Four people, including a 9-year-old child, were killed in Orange, California, on Wednesday, and 10 people were killed in a mass shooting at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado.
Eight people were killed on March 16 in a mass shootout in Atlanta area spas. Six of the eight deceased victims were women of Asian descent.
The Congressional Research Service defines mass shootings as incidents involving four or more victims.
