Mass Effect: Legendary Edition changes some free camera shots

BioWare has changed some camera shots from the Mass Effect series to the remastered Mass Effect: Legendary Edition package. In an interview with Metro, Mac Walters, project director for Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, said the team had changed certain camera angles that were considered free. “Kevin [Meek] actually called some camera cuts that were just … why were they focusing on Miranda’s ass? “Walters explained. So in some cases, we said, ‘Okay, we can make a change here’

In another part of the interview, character and environment director Kevin Meek alludes to another low camera shot where a male pastor is sitting with his legs spread. The developers were unable to change the animation itself, but they could change the position of the camera to change how the scene is framed. “If you were wearing a skirt, it would be a little unfavorable,” explains Meek. “So, we can’t necessarily change this animation, but you can raise the camera slightly to reduce the problem. ‘

The developers stopped changing entire character models, noting that the camera shots they changed were “a decision that was made as part of many creative decisions and only shown with the best possible fidelity so that we could move on”.

“I think that many things have evolved since [the original games] but I don’t know if I’d say we’re very concerned about that or something, ”says Walters. In 2010, Mass Effect 2’s project director, Casey Hudson, told Kotaku that a specific free photo of Miranda’s ass was“ an interesting choice “and pointed out how it was not easily overlooked” when you have seen him there so long … “Hudson continued.

Legendary Edition, which brings together the original Mass Effect trilogy, is a remastered version of the classic action RPGs and aims to offer almost everything the originals did. However, Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer mode failed, and a part of the Mass Effect 1 DLC was lost due to a corrupted source code issue.

The game is scheduled for release on May 14 this year, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. After a preview, we said Mass Effect: Legendary Edition looks less than a remake, but much more than a remaster.
