Mary Trump, a clinical psychologist and niece of former President Donald Trump, said she believed her uncle was more upset about being banned from Twitter and losing his high-profile golf tournament than losing the presidential election.
“I think that being banned from Twitter and having [Professional Golf Association (PGA)] taking the tournament out of your golf courses is probably the worst thing that has happened to you in the past four years, “said Mary Trump Insider On thursday.
“How is he doing without Twitter? Because even he must realize that people are not really paying attention to him in the same way,” she added.
Donald Trump was banned permanently from Twitter on January 8, two days after a violent crowd of his supporters invaded the United States Capitol in an attempt to overturn the election results. The siege left five dead and resulted in the temporary or permanent suspension of the former president from all major social media platforms.
Then, on January 10, the PGA announced that it would withdraw the Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster, New Jersey, from hosting the 2022 PGA Championship – an event that Trump has spent years lobbying for.
On January 11, New York Times Reporter Maggie Haberman tweeted that Donald Trump was “destroyed” and more irritated by losing the tournament than having gone through a second impeachment trial.

Since losing the election, Donald Trump has maintained a significant presence within the Republican Party and has suggested a presidential run in 2024.
At this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the former president was a big point of discussion, with politicians like Texas Senator Ted Cruz using his speech to claim that “Donald J. Trump is not going anywhere.”
“Clearly, this thing with the Republican Party is helping him because imagine if he didn’t have it. If he had become as irrelevant as anybody else who loses an election becomes, then I think his state of mind would be very different,” Mary Trump said on Thursday.

However, the former president’s niece said she believed Trump is just hanging on to the possibility of another presidential race to maintain “control of power”.
“He thinks that, in some way, this will allow him to continue operating with impunity, as he has done throughout his life, and will also allow him to continue to take money from people,” she said. Insider.
