Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 gets two different titles from Tom Holland and cast

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man seems to be in trouble if two theoretical titles for the Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man 3 are any indication.

Announced on Instagram from Holland, a title for the third installment of the Marvel-Sony franchise is Spider-Man: Phone home. The subtitle is in line with the theme of high school Homecoming and sequel to European holidays Far from homeand creates even more distance from Peter Parker’s home in New York City. (It is also good ET to wave.)

But wait … is that the title?

In a separate post, costar Jacob Batalon shared a different image of the set with a different treatment of the title. Get ready to … Spider-Man: Home Destroyer?

Based on cast reports that neither Marvel Studios nor Sony Pictures have yet technically confirmed, Spider-Man 3 will see Spidey sucked into the multiverse. The nonsense of the title of Holland and Batalon seems to fit the premise, whether legitimate or not. But hey, even if they’re trolling Marvel fans, they still got a first look at a movie. Something will will shine off the screen in 2021.

The pivot for a real multiverse comes after Mysterio made the world think that there were other plans of existence in Far from home … just for the audience to learn through a special participation in the J. Jonah Jameson post-credit scene by JK Simmons that maybe everything It is connected (and that Peter Parker is Spider-Man – but that’s a totally different can of worms). After Evan Peters’ Quicksilver Fox X-Men films appeared in WandaVision a few weeks ago, all the cross-franchise antics seem plausible with Marvel Studios in control of their properties once again.

Spider-Man 3 it is said to change Doctor Strange to the parental role that Tony Stark has filled Homecoming, and involve villains from far beyond the MCU – including Jamie Foxx’s Electro from the incredible spider-man 2 and Doctor Octopus by Alfred Molina de Spider-Man 2. There was no formal cast or announcement of a major villain, but rumors circulated that series director Jon Watts’s dream of bringing Kraven the Hunter to the screen could really happen. (Then cross your fingers, he’s hunting Spideys for the multiverse.)

Whatever doors the film opens to the larger universe, and how the hell do they end up calling it, Spider-Man 3 promises to be the largest installment of Spider-Man MCU so far. “The film is incredibly ambitious and I am pleased to say that we are succeeding in doing so,” said Holland recently Yahoo. “It is going very well. We watched a fight scene that we shot a few weeks ago, and I never saw a fight scene like that at MCU. I’m really excited for the audience to see that. “

Spider-Man: Phone Home / Home-Wrecker, currently filming at Marvel’s home in Atlanta, Georgia, is once again directed by Watts, who has the rare honor of directing each installment of a single MCU hero franchise (and he will perform again for a non-Marvel movie). Sony Marvel, The fantastic four, in the not too distant future). Like the entire Marvel movie calendar last year, availability of cinemas and reopening from one state to another amid the COVID pandemic may change plans in the blink of an eye, but for now, Spider-Man: Phone Home / Home-Wrecker is set for a release date on December 17, 2021. At least Sony and Disney really managed to make a deal to make that happen.
