We are in the early stages Marvel’s Phase Four, but there are already leaks about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A credible new report claims to reveal some pretty sensational details about what’s to come, including a brilliant plan to introduce the X-Men to the MCU. (Consider yourself warned: possible MCU spoilers forward!)
The source of these latest Marvel leaks is Twitter. Specifically, an account called @mainmiddleman, who previously reported on the importance of Ralph Bohner necklace weeks before its importance was revealed in the WandaVision Final. Most recently, they posted a new topic on Twitter fully populated with alleged MCU spoilers. And based on his history with WandaVision, we are inclined to give @mainmiddleman the benefit of the doubt.
Here’s a quick tour of what they claim about Marvel Studio’s X-Men grand plans …
Plans for Marvel’s X-Men movie begin in 2021
The leaker claims that Marvel’s big X-Men project is codenamed “The Mutants” and includes a film by that name along with plans to introduce other characters to the MCU through various programs and films that led to the real The mutants movie.
Apparently, the first mutants may appear in the MCU in 2021. The leak also notes that “there may be a mention of the mutants feeling free to reveal themselves to the world and to fight crimes after Tony Stark reveals himself as Iron Man. “. In addition, he claims that The Blip (also known as Snap) can play an important role in turning normal humans against their mutant siblings.
As for the first real X-Men movie, it can be directly connected to Eternals and focus mainly on Charles Xavier and Moira MacTaggart. It could also introduce the Brotherhood of Mutants (Magneto, Mystique, Sabertooth, Toad, Pyro, the Blob, etc.) as the main villains, and include a team of X-Men inspired by the “First Class” comics (which is Angel, Jean Gray, Cyclops, Iceman and crossbow).
Finally, @mainmiddleman states that MCU’s first X-Men film will focus on “social issues about minorities”, which makes sense, since Mutantes has always served as a metaphor for minorities and the way society treats them badly.
The same Twitter leak also includes alleged details about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The fantastic Four.
When it comes to Stephen Strange, it looks like Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) will be the main villain. Apparently, he is now working for the Marvel Nightmare supervillain and trying to get his hands on Darkhold. The leak also states that the end WandaVision scene was actually a photo taken from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
And if you are concerned about another false multiverse, get this detail:
“There will be a huge scene for a union of interdimensional villains after the collapse of the multiverse.”
Finally, it seems that the introduction of the Fantastic Four to the MCU is closer than we thought. Apparently, the team will appear in Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantumania, scheduled for release in 2022. The film can also relate to the next Disney + series Secret Invasion, with the Fantastic Four’s main villain potentially being Super-Skrull. (But don’t worry, fans of Doctor Doom, the Supreme Leader of Latvéria may appear as well.)
