Marvel will debut the LGBT character Captain America during Pride Month

Marvel Comics unveiled its first gay character, Captain America, this week – and is expected to debut the role in June during Pride Month, a report said.

The character, Aaron Fischer, will be included in the comic book miniseries “United States of Captain America,” Entertainment Weekly reported.

In the plot, Fischer, who protects young homeless and runaways, is discovered when Steve Rogers and three other characters launch a mission to find Steve’s lost shield, the report said.

“Aaron is inspired by queer community heroes: activists, leaders and ordinary people who are fighting for a better life,” creator Aaron Trujillo told the channel.

“He represents the oppressed and the forgotten. I hope your debut story will resonate with readers and help inspire the next generation of heroes, ”said Trujillo.

Aaron was illustrated by Jan Bazaldua, who told the publication that he is proud to have been part of the first in the series.

“As a transgender person, I am happy to be able to introduce an openly gay person who admires Captain America and fights against evil to help those who are almost invisible to society,” said Bazaldua.

The first issue of the new miniseries hits newsstands on June 2.
