Marvel gives up plans to work with Shia LaBeouf after sexual assault lawsuit

Shia LaBeouf it didn’t have a great 2020. At the beginning of the year, things looked good. He apparently overcame his alcohol dependency problems, was receiving good news for Dear boy, won over the public with the excellent The peanut butter falcon and there were several reports that the big studios considered him a rising prospect once again. The pinnacle came when he defeated several A-list competitors for a role in Olivia Wilde’s film Do not worry, dear, apparently making official his return to the mainstream.

Then, the lawsuit of his former partner Tahliah Barnett (aka FKA Twigs) made the news. This alleged a shocking litany of abusive behavior, including strangulation, beatings, intentionally infecting her with an STD and getting her kicks by shooting stray dogs. The accusations were supported by other women and – rightly – opened a hole in the revival of her career.

A role he would have missed is an unknown part of Marvel Studios. According to Variety, Kevin Feige and company. were impressed with Dear boy and we were looking for a job for LaBeouf, but this is definitely not happening now. It is theorized that he could be keeping an eye on the Moon Knight (who has since gone to Oscar Isaac), but I have always liked his cast of fans as Wolverine.

Any dream that LaBeouf had to put on a cape and enter the MCU is a toast, so since the process was closed, he has been kicked out of many of his next roles. Variety reports that he is not attached to any projects at the moment and it looks like he will return to the desert and try to rebuild his reputation once again. Whether he deserves a second (or third, or fourth) chance does not depend on me, but I strive to see the public taking an interest in him, since he was unable to deny the execution of dogs. That is the kind of claim that remains.

Then again, if Mel Gibson can make a comeback, I would not rule out anything to Shia LaBeouf.
