Marvel Avengers continue to correct the wrong problems

Marvel’s Avengers is a game that, perhaps against my best judgment, I have a lot of love for. His single-player campaign featured a great and entertaining story, but its cooperative end-of-game component went down with a lack of compelling post-campaign content and has never improved since launch. Considering the subject, it can be associated with the “too big to fail” theory in the Titanic style, but recent updates have left me genuinely concerned about its future. The announcement of a major XP rework is perhaps the most worrying sign yet, as developers continue to fix problems that aren’t really the biggest of the Avengers.

It is especially frustrating because I remained hopeful – on the eve of every War Table flow that appeared, I thought to myself, “maybe this is where problems are solved”. That thought has not yet come true.There was no word on Secret Lab missions designed to test high-level characters, and without them, there is very little incentive to seek better items. Months went by with no sign of a script for their addition, and it’s hard not to worry about it – especially when, bizarrely, some players managed accidentally was part of the Secret Lab’s missions in September.

Considering the state of the world now, there are certainly very valid reasons for delays in some of the advertised content. But it is the lack of communication with the Marvel Avengers dedicated player base, along with the speed of ads like these, that are frustrating.

March 18 may have been a time when the Marvel Avengers rewrote some of their mistakes to bring back lost players and attract a new group of players, as Hawkeye enters the fight along with his series of story missions plus versions arrival of the PS5 and the X Series. But many can now be discouraged by the increased routine that awaits them. The change in the XP curve will not apply until that date, which means that there is an incentive for players who currently own the game to play now if they want an easier ride to level 50, and even the developers seem to know that. .

“If you have a character who is not at level 50 and you want to speed up your progress, take the opportunity to do this before the update on March 18,” says the ad.This will leave many trapped between deciding to play the same missions in a lower version of the game now, or waiting to play a technically enhanced version, but for much longer. What should have been an exciting new start for the Marvel Avengers may well turn into a faltering restart with a player base of tired veterans and confused newcomers.

I want to love the Marvel Avengers. In a year, I want to look back and see how successful it has become. However, for this to happen, there needs to be better communication with the fans and a genuine back-and-forth in relation to the problems that the fans have with the game. Of all the complaints I saw about the Marvel Avengers, none were about how surprisingly fast leveling your heroes can be, but almost all were about the lack of fun after doing that.

Hopefully, the “too big to fail” theory will materialize and I will be enjoying this game for years to come, but this week’s announcement seemed like a useless shift in the chain before a potential iceberg arrived on March 18.
