Martin Scorsese’s “Killers Of The Flower Moon” Adds Four – Deadline

Apple Original Films continues to expand the cast of the thriller directed by Martin Scorsese Assassins of the Moon of Flowers.

William Belleau (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) and Louis Cancelmi (The Irish), along with Grammy-winning singers and composers Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson.

Set in Oklahoma, in the 1920s, Flower Moon Assassins portrays the serial murder of members of the oil-rich Osage nation, a series of brutal crimes that came to be known as the Kingdom of Terror.

Belleau will play Henry Roan, an Osage farmer with close ties to DiCaprio’s Burkhart family. Cancelmi is Kelsie Morrison, a local drug dealer and a friend of Burkhart’s. Isbell, who makes his debut as an actor in the film, plays Bill Smith, an opponent of Ernest Burkhart, while Sturgill Simpson enters as the infamous rodeo champion and smuggler Henry Grammer.

Belleau was born in Williams Lake, BC, on Alkali Lake, a small reserve also known as First Nations Secwepemc as Esketemc. Notable credits include Blackway starring Anthony Hopkins, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, The kill, From Netflix Border, Van Helsing, Arctic Air, Amazon’s The Man from the High Castle, Loudermilk, Supergirl and Blood Quantum. Belleau is represented by Premiere Talent Management.

Cancelmi’s credits include Boardwalk Empire, Blue Bloods, From Scorsese The Irish It is the next Tammy Faye’s eyes. He is represented by Cyrena Esposito at Red Letter Entertainment and Gersh.

Isbell emerged in 2013 with the launch of Southeast. Your next two albums, Something more than free (2015) and The Nashville Sound (2017), won the Grammy for Best American Album and Best American Root Song. Isbell’s song “Maybe It’s Time” was featured on the 2019 reboot of A star is born. His last complete album, Reunions (2020), is an acclaimed collection of 10 new songs. Simpson was recently seen in the film by Melina Matsoukas Queen and Slim and Jim Jarmusch The dead don’t die, for which he wrote and performed the theme song. Simpson made his acting debut on the CBS All Access series $ 1 by Jason Mosberg and Craig Zobel. In October 2020, Simpson launched his first bluegrass project, Cuttin ‘Grass Vol. 1 – Butchery sessions. The album was conceived while he was recovering at home after being hospitalized with coronavirus, and saw him reimagining songs from his catalog with the support of some of Nashville’s best acoustic virtuosos.
