Martin Scorsese cast Lily Gladstone to be the wife of Leonardo DiCaprio in the original Apple film, Killers Of The Flower Moon
With filming scheduled to begin this spring, Martin Scorsese cast the female lead in his long-awaited new film Killers of The Flower Moon.
The veteran director hired actress Lily Gladstone, 34, to star alongside Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio in the film based on a true story from Apple Original Film, Variety reported on Thursday.
It’s a breakthrough for Gladstone, who is relatively unknown with roles in only a handful of productions, including the 2016 independent drama Certain Women and the Showtime Billions series in 2019.

Killers Of The Flower Moon is an adaptation of David Grann’s bestselling book on true crimes of the same name on the brutal murders of Osage Nation Native Americans in Oklahoma in the 1920s.
The murders became known as the Reign of Terror and became one of the first major cases to be investigated by the then newly formed FBI.
The murders began after oil was found on land belonging to the Osage nation.

De Niro plays a powerful Oklahoma rancher, William Hale.
DiCaprio plays Hale’s nephew, Ernest Burkhart, and Gladstone, DiCaprio’s wife, Mollie, a member of the Osage nation.
Gladstone herself is a descendant of the Blackfeet and Nez Perce tribes.
According to local media in Oklahoma, filming will take place from spring to late summer in the Tulsa, Bartlesville and Osage County area.
A virtual call for extras was announced last month.
The production has an estimated budget of $ 200 million and will be Scorsese’s first film since Netflix’s 2019 hit, The Irishman.
