Saints’ cornerback, Marshon Lattimore, was arrested Thursday night in Cleveland, under suspension for possession of a stolen gun.

On Friday, Lattimore was charged with a fourth-degree crime for receiving a stolen firearm, reports NFL Media.

Lattimore gave up his preliminary hearing and his case was submitted to the grand jury at the Cuyahoga County Court of Justice. His bail was set at $ 5,000 during Friday’s hearing, according to NFL Media.

Lattimore was a passenger in a car stopped by the police for “multiple traffic violations”. Two other passengers were arrested for carrying weapons while they were disabled. The driver was arrested for improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and received a quote for driving without working rear lights.

The gun in Lattimore’s possession was reported to have been stolen by someone in Euclid, Ohio.

Lattimore’s lawyer released a statement before Lattimore was charged, calling Lattimore’s prison “a misunderstanding”.

Lattimore, 24, was Santos’ choice in the first round in 2017. He made three Pro Bowls, including in 2020.

Lattimore is entering the final year of his debut contract, set to earn $ 10.244 million in 2021.
